DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Inyo invites people of all ages\, Eastern Sierra locals and tourists alike\, to join us at Bishop City Park\, at the gazebo on Main Street\, Saturday\, July 23\, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.\, to listen to local sheepherders (many of whom are Hispanic) talk about their adventures in nature\, their responsible sheepherding practices\, and\, sadly\, how they have seen our beautiful Eastern Sierra landscape change over the decades due to water extraction and climate change. There is much we can learn from them.\n\nIt will be fun. It will be FREE. There will be businesses from the community displaying their services at outreach tables as well. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit in the shady coolness of the park lawn.\n\n\n\nLatino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra (Enjoying and Conserving Our Land) is an initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation (HAF). It was created to support the Latino community getting into the outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources.
