SUMMARY:SNARL Seminar - Reconstructing the temperature of Earth's past to understand future climate change
DESCRIPTION:Reconstructing the temperature of Earth's past to understand future\n\nclimate change\n\nDr. Jamie Lucarelli\, Postdoctoral Fellow\, UCLA Department of Earth\, Planetary\, and\n\nSpace Sciences\n\nThis talk will be about temperature reconstructions for particular past time intervals\, including epochs that are\n\nbelieved to have had CO2 concentrations equal to or greater than present.\n\nJamie Lucarelli is a postdoctoral fellow in the Earth\, Planetary\, and Space Sciences Department at UCLA\, and\n\npart-time faculty in the Geological Sciences department at California State University San Bernardino. Her\n\nresearch uses mass spectrometry to shed light on how Earth's temperature has changed through time\, and how\n\nmarine organisms build their shells and skeletons through biomineralization.
