Administrative Assistant

The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce (MLCC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join their dynamic team! The Administrative Assistant (AA) manages administrative tasks and supports assigned events and programs. The AA must be excited to improve the Mammoth Lakes community. Ideal candidates will be professional, have great interpersonal skills and believe in the Chamber’s mission.
 
This position is part-time hourly and will run mid-June through mid-November. Potential for position to be extended. The AA will report to the Executive Director. Support at some evening and holiday events is required.
 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work with Chamber team to manage ChamberMaster and MailChimp databases
    • Communicate with members on how to use their Member Portal to update account or business information, post events and job openings
  • Manage administrative duties for Chamber events – including, but not limited to
    • Promoting events on Facebook and Instagram
      • Monitor MLCC social media and notify staff of questions/comments
    • Packing for events
    • Working check-in table
    • Printing event nametags
    • Set up and break down events with Chamber team
  • Assist Workforce Housing Coordinator with administrative tasks for the Workforce Housing Program
  • Support ED on compiling Monday morning email newsletter and one-time emails as needed
  • Support Executive Director with monthly membership dues billing
  • Event support for the Annual 4th of July Parade and Annual Business Excellence Awards
  • Attend board meeting and assist team in taking minutes
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Fair understanding of the Mammoth Lakes community
  • Professional appearance, both in-person and on the phone
  • Positive attitude and commitment to the Chamber’s mission, vision and values
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • High school diploma
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • CA driver’s license and reliable vehicle OR reliable transportation 
Ideal Qualifications
  • Interest in learning administrative tasks and responsibilities
  • Experience working in an office/professional environment is a plus
Compensation: Pay range $15.50-$20/hour, depending on experience.
