4th of July Parade: Make it Mammoth. Go the Extra Mile

The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 2026 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 4 — marking America’s 250th anniversary (1776–2026).

This year’s theme, Make It Mammoth — Go the Extra Mile, sets the tone for a big, locally rooted celebration.

We’re so excited to have Olympic medalist Deena Kastor leading this year’s 4th of July Parade as the Grand Marshal. One of the most accomplished distance runners in U.S. history, an Olympic marathon medalist, and a longtime Mammoth local, Deena is the perfect fit for this year’s theme.

 

Parade Day—Saturday, 4th of July, 2026

 

The parade begins at 11am and wraps around 12:30pm. Bring your camp chairs, wear your red, white, and blue, and enjoy the parade as it moves through town. This year, we are not hosting a VIP tent experience. 

The parade starts at the intersection of Chateau Road and Old Mammoth Road and ends at the corner of Manzanita Road and Main Street. 

Heads up! There are some major changes to road closures and traffic flow this year. 
Main Street will close at 9am, one hour earlier than in previous years, with the closure extending from the corner of Old Mammoth Road to Minaret Road at The Village. Forest Trail and Sierra Boulevard will no longer provide access to Main Street during the parade.
 
At 10am, Old Mammoth Road will close between Minaret Road and Main Street. Hard closures will also be in place on both sides of town, meaning that you can't get through with a vehicle and travel between the east and west sides of Mammoth Lakes will require a detour via the Scenic Loop until the parade has passed. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

The Chamber is also continuing its Clap, Don't Splash campaign.
While water balloons and squirt guns have become part of the parade tradition over the years, spectators are asked to leave the water balloons andwater guns at home. Our parade participants are not allowed to spray or throw water, and we ask our spectators to do the same. Cheer loudly, wave proudly, clap enthusiastically—but please leave the water out of the parade.
