About Us

Sierra STEM is a small, June Lake-based nonprofit organization that offers experiential learning, science enrichment, and outdoor education programs for school-aged kids.

At Sierra STEM, we believe every child deserves the chance to not just learn science, but to do science; to get off their screens and into the field; to get their hands (or nitrile gloves, in some cases) dirty. Whether they are setting out on their first overnight backpacking trip or making their own earthquakes with an expert seismologist, our programs offer students opportunities to encounter wonder, celebrate discovery, and face challenges with joy in ways that traditional classrooms rarely allow.

In order to fulfill this mission, we offer Summer Camps, Friday Night Science Club, Family STEM Night, and hands-on, in-school workshops at every public school in Mono and Inyo Counties.
