Ribbon Cutting: Beast of the East

ALL ARE WELCOME to celebrate the official Ribbon Cutting of BEAST OF THE EAST AND LIL BEAST on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 4-5pm.

Located next to Bird and the Biscuit, Beast of the East brings more Asian food to Mammoth Lakes with an affordable menu spanning Thai, Japanese, Korean and Chinese flavors. Owners BJ James and Toshiko Casas want the experience to feel different from the typical mountain restaurant, drawing on their backgrounds in music, art, snowboarding and skateboarding.

The restaurant will also serve as a revolving art gallery, showcasing work by the owners? artist friends and giving diners the opportunity to purchase pieces directly from the walls.

Next door, Lil Beast takes inspiration from Japanese convenience stores, with build-your-own sushi burritos and poke bowls, along with premade bento boxes for an easy grab-and-go option.
