Ribbon Cutting: Local Scoop Ice-cream Mammoth
Join us in celebrating the Grand Opening of LOCAL SCOOP in Mammoth Lakes with their Ribbon Cutting.
About Local Scoop
Local Scoop began as a family-run ice cream shop in June Lake, inspired by a simple idea: to create a fun, welcoming space for locals and visitors alike.
Owners Adam and Jill Kaye first came to the Eastern Sierra as vacation homeowners in 2012, and during the pandemic, what was meant to be a short-term escape from Agoura Hills turned into a permanent move. When June Lake’s longtime candy shop closed, they saw an opportunity to build a new space where families could gather and enjoy ice cream. After a family meeting and a shared desire to create something meaningful together, Local Scoop was born.
Following the success of their June Lake shop, expanding to Mammoth was the natural next step. Adam brings over 20 years of experience in finance, while Jill’s design background has shaped the shop’s signature look and feel. Together, they’ve created more than just an ice cream store—they’ve built a place that celebrates community, supports local families, and fosters memorable experiences.
Their two sons, Evan and Chase, have taken active roles in the business, making it a true family venture rooted in pride, fun, and connection. Local Scoop is committed to delivering great service, good vibes, and of course, delicious ice cream and Liege waffles to the Mammoth Lakes community. They proudly support local businesses, sponsor local athletes, and work with community members to help keep small towns thriving—all while hinting at a few new tricks up their sleeve!
