Journeymam Electrician
We are looking for a Journeyman Electrician who is a skilled tradesperson who installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment. They work with a variety of tools and follow blueprints and electrical codes to ensure safety and functionality. They often work independently or mentor apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Installing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to blueprints and electrical codes. This includes tasks like running conduit, pulling wire, and connecting devices like outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures.
- Maintenance and Repair: Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical problems, repairing or replacing faulty wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
- Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Understanding and using electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to guide their work.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving electrical issues using various testing devices and techniques.
- Mentoring: Supervising and training apprentice electricians, sharing knowledge and experience.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task.
- Collaboration: Working effectively with other tradespeople, project managers, and clients.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and tools.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform tasks that may require standing for extended periods, lifting, and working in various conditions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
