Position Title: Events Intern (Paid)
Organization: Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce
Location: 2520 Main Street, Mammoth Lakes, CA
Pay: Starting at $16.90/hour
Schedule: ~10 hours per week (in-office + events)
Dates: June through August

About the Role
Want a behind-the-scenes look at how events come together in Mammoth Lakes? We’re looking for an Events Intern to join our team this summer! You’ll help bring business and community events to life—from small networking mixers to one of the biggest celebrations of the year: the 4th of July Parade.

This is a hands-on role where no two days look the same. If you like being around people, staying busy, and seeing your work come to life in real time, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Jump in with the team to prep for upcoming events (think behind-the-scenes logistics and organization)
  • Help set up event spaces—tables, chairs, signage, and basic Audio Visual
  • Welcome guests and help run check-in at events; stick around for the action and help with cleanup
  • Assist in social media content collection – photos and videos at events
  • Support planning and coordination for the 4th of July Parade
  • Be part of a variety of events, including: Business Mixers, Ribbon Cuttings, Lunch and Business Seminars and Community Celebrations

What You’ll Get Out of It
  • Real-world experience in event planning and community engagement
  • A chance to meet local business leaders and be part of the Mammoth Lakes community
  • Insight into how a Chamber of Commerce operates
  • A fun, fast-paced summer role where you’ll see the direct impact of your work

What We’re Looking For
  • Someone interested in events, business, marketing, or hospitality
  • Positive, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed
  • Comfortable interacting with people and working as part of a team
  • Able to lift/lightly move event materials and be on your feet during events
  • Reliable transportation to get to the office and event locations
