· Early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or rotation shifts depending on site needs

Job Duties for?Canteen Cook:

· Prepare and serve high quality meals, snacks, and beverages according to menus, portion standards, and dietary guidelines

· Cook food in appropriate batch sizes based on site demand and ensure meals are served on time and presented professionally

· Maintain awareness of dietary restrictions, provide appropriate alternatives, and respond to employee and guest requests

· Follow all food safety, sanitation, and site policies, including safe operation of kitchen equipment and use of required PPE

· Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and dining or serving areas and maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment

· Properly receive, inspect, store, and rotate food and supply deliveries while monitoring expiration dates and minimizing waste

· Assist with inventory tracking, notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing, and support basic menu planning as directed

· Complete required logs, reports, and shift summaries and promptly report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or incidents

· Provide friendly, consistent service to employees and visitors and address concerns professionally

· Follow all policies and safety procedures in place

· Completes any other related tasks as needed

Qualifications for?Canteen Cook:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Reliable transportation to and from worksite

· Current MSHA certification

· Experience as cook or food service worker preferred, especially in camp or industrial kitchens

· Knowledge of safe food handling and commercial cooking equipment

· Ability to prepare meals for large groups independently with minimal supervision

· Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist, reach, and work in various weather or high-temperature conditions

· Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure

· Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and teamwork in remote or mining environments

· Experience in mining, industrial, remote camps, facilities, housekeeping, maintenance, or custodial roles preferred
