Development and Communications Coordinator
Access Mammoth is currently seeking a Development and Communications Coordinator. This position will support fundraising efforts through database management, event planning/execution, and grant writing, reporting, and management. Simultaneously, this position is the gatekeeper to all public-facing communications, including newsletters, social media posts, press releases, and website content.
The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller who wants to share the work of Access Mammoth across a variety of channels and with a variety of audiences. To thrive in this role, a person must show excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, effective time management, fluidity at planning and organizing events, comfort working with a variety of application programs, and the desire to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment to serve the Access Mammoth community.
Specific Responsibilities
Development and Fundraising
- Collaborate in fundraising initiatives for Access Mammoth programs and the Jack and Kathy Copeland Center
- Support fundraising events through Classy, GiveSmart, and hands-on communication with participants, volunteers and donors
- Oversee grant research, writing, and reporting and act as the liaison between grant contractors and the Access Mammoth programs team
- Manage donor profiles and accurate data flow in Salesforce
- Ensure accuracy and timely processing of donor acknowledgment receipts, online Classy receipts, and Salesforce tracking
- Check donor portals monthly and conduct quarterly outreach accordingly
- Develop and maintain relationships with major donors, sponsors and partners
- Meet monthly with the Access Mammoth leadership team to review year-to-date grant activity relative to budgeted goals
Communications:
- Ensure all outgoing communications align with the Access Mammoth brand
- Collaborate closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and Program Coordinator to gather key communication points for participant, volunteer and donor outreach
- Think ahead regarding needed outreach, surveys, and communications
- Design marketing collateral, including tabling kits and brochures
- Send out Constant Contact communications, including: Volunteer of the Month emails (monthly)
- Volunteer newsletters (currently quarterly)
- Program and participant-related updates (currently quarterly or as needed)
- Donor emails to build and follow donor campaigns
- Lead all design work
- Create press releases and ads for media outreach
- Maintain and update the website
- Lead social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn (currently ~3 posts per week)
- Monitor and report on social media engagement and analytics
- Ensure accessibility compliance for digital communications and website content
- Build media relationships and respond to press inquiries
- Monitor and manage the organization’s reputation and brand consistency online
Knowledge and Skills

- Experience managing social media, marketing, and communications strategy
- Experience in grant writing and reporting

- Experience working in summer and winter recreation environments preferred
