Job Title: Appliance Maintenance Repair Technician
Pay: $25-$35/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Appliance Repair Technician to diagnose, service, and repair a variety of household and commercial appliances, including refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and more. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning appliances (e.g., refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, ovens, microwaves)
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on appliances
- Replace defective parts such as motors, heating elements, switches, and belts
- Use diagnostic tools and schematics to identify mechanical and electrical issues
- Provide clear explanations to customers regarding issues and repair options
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent
- Follow safety procedures and industry standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including service vehicle if provided
- Order or recommend parts and supplies as needed
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or certification preferred (EPA Certification, Appliance Repair Certification, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if traveling to customer sites)
- Proven experience in appliance repair or a similar mechanical field
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and schematics
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy appliances, kneel, crouch, and work in tight spaces
- Experience with both residential and commercial appliances
- Familiarity with smart appliances and modern diagnostic tools
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus in some service areas
